These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Klyx Store Backup Shopify application ("App" or "Service") provided by KLYX ("we", "us", "our"). By installing the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and KLYX.
2. Description of Service
Klyx Store Backup is a Shopify application that provides:
- Automated daily backups — full snapshots of your Shopify store data, including products, collections, themes, customers, pages, blogs, metafields, metaobjects, menus, and store settings.
- On-demand backups — trigger a backup manually at any time via the "Backup Now" button.
- Point-in-time restore — restore your entire store, a specific resource type, or a single item to any backed-up state.
- Visual diff viewer — compare any two backup snapshots side-by-side with field-level change highlighting.
- Real-time backup triggers — webhook-triggered backups on product and collection changes (Starter+ plan).
- Cross-store restore — restore a backup from one Shopify store into a different store (Pro plan).
- Google Drive export — manual or automatic export of backup snapshots to your connected Google Drive (Pro plan).
3. User Responsibilities
- Reviewing restores before confirming: The App provides a restore preview. You are responsible for reviewing it before confirming any restore — especially when using "Overwrite" strategy on a live store.
- Backup schedule configuration: Ensuring your desired backup frequency and resource type toggles are correctly configured in Settings.
- Alert email validity: Maintaining a valid alert email address so backup failure notifications are received.
- Compliance with Shopify ToS: Using the App in a manner consistent with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement and Merchant Terms of Service.
- Account security: Maintaining the security of your Shopify store credentials and admin access.
4. Pricing and Payment
- All billing is handled through Shopify's billing system via the Shopify Recurring Application Charges API. We do not directly collect or store payment information.
- Plans are month-to-month — you can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin billing page.
- The Free plan is available with no charge. Paid plans activate after the free trial period ends.
- Upgrading or downgrading between plans takes effect immediately and is pro-rated by Shopify's billing system.
5. Limitation of Liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- KLYX is not liable for data loss resulting from a restore operation that overwrites live store data. Always use the Restore Preview and confirm the correct backup before proceeding.
- KLYX is not liable for any loss of revenue, profit, or business arising from service outages, incomplete backup coverage, or third-party infrastructure failures (Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare R2, Upstash).
- Backup coverage is limited to data accessible via the Shopify Admin API at the time of the backup.
- Our total liability to you in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 30 days.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described therein.
7. Service Availability
We target 99.9% uptime for the App but do not provide a guaranteed SLA. Maintenance windows and third-party outages may occasionally affect availability. We are not liable for losses resulting from downtime or service interruptions.
8. Termination
- By you: Uninstall the App at any time from Shopify Admin → Apps. All your store data will be scheduled for deletion within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
- By us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive usage, or cause harm to our systems or other users.
9. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
